Whimsically TIpsy the CT Mobile Bar located based out of Old Lyme Connecticut was asked to participate in the Sun Wine and Food Fest at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville. The total event lasts 4 days and includes showcases & tastings from celebrity chefs, bourbon, wine and other spirit tastings over multiple days in the Uncas Ballroom and the Earth Expo & Convention Center.

The non-profit event supporting the Channel 3 Kids Camp brings in thousands of people from New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and of course Connecticut. Whimsically Tipsy Partnered with local distributor Mancini Beverage headquartered in West Greenwich Rhode Island with offices in Norwich and Orange Connecticut to showcase samples of cocktails made with Wheatley Vodka, Vida de Muertos a Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal and Roe & Co. Irish Whiskey.

A literal blizzard hit CT which slightly tamped down attendance however the casino was still at maximum capacity making for a great weekend of events. Whimsically Tipsy along with help from CT Restaurant Association Bartender of The Year Khalid Williams and his Connecticut Food and Cocktail focused lifestyle brand The Barrel Age, created over 980 cocktails samples to guests.
“We had an unbelievable time and it absolutely allowed us to get our brand out there” said Stuart Slocum Whimsically Tipsy’s Owner. “Natasha created some amazing concoctions that were very unique like our Phoenix Fire, which uses Vida De Muertos Mezcal by Del Maguey, fresh lime & grapefruit juice, muddled jalapeño and a dash of ground Himalayan pink sea salt that was the fan favorite for the event. Usually Mezcal can be a divisive spirit but she put it together in a perfectly balanced way that brought people out of their comfort zone opening their eyes to something new!”

The Whimsically Tipsy team waited out the storm that hammered New London County finally allowing them to leave on Sunday after the event. The time in the casino bonding with distributors and vendors was a blast however Willow the VW Mobile Bar Bus doesn’t do well in the salt from the plow trucks melting ice and snow, so the team had to improvise. They decided to wrap Willow up in shrink wrap to protect her from being eaten up by chemicals on the road outside the casino on the ride home to Old Lyme which made for quite a spectacle.

They can’t wait to participate in the event next year and have already booked multiple events with friends they made at the casino!
